Youth Leadership Initiative (YLI):

Our pronounced mission at Anwar Jannat Memorial Foundation (AJMF) is to enable self- motivated and ambitious young students imbued with leadership qualities to come out of the text-book learning inside the class-rooms and move into the world at large with confidence. We aspire to encourage our youth to actively participate in the surrounding community and thus evolve an enduring relationship with the outside world f. Active Citizenship inspires volunteerism and a rare sense of belongingness to the society and system. They feel connected and are practically involved in the decision making process concerning issues related to them.  Once they are on board they can make a real difference in their communities because they have the will, the passion, the knowledge, the drive and a rare sense of responsibility.

We also believe that young people are the custodians as well as the guarantors of our common shared future. Therefore, it is imperative that they are sensitized to the global issues and concerns which have the potential of endangering international peace and order. Thus, right from the outset in their school days, our young students must be informed about the upcoming challenges of the highly globalizing world. We need to instill in them respect for fundamental human values and social norms essential for a collective growth and they learn to grow with them. Only then can they be expected to translate those learnt practices into concrete actions as they position themselves as responsible citizens.

These aspirations can not become a reality unless we promote a healthy practice of a cross-cultural dialogue on issues emanating from a rapidly changing global world. Thus we can foster tolerance for difference of opinion, respect for dissent and eventually an international community which has the vision to celebrate diversity and benefits from multiculturalism. In its third Millennium, this planet requires leaders who rise above their narrow intellectual tunnels and work for the common cause of humanity as a whole. AJMF is committed to provide an enabling environment both at national and international level to our potential youth leaders who share the vision of a better and a safer world.
