The Holy Journey
Simply imbued with the spirit of serving humanity, Professor Muhammad Anwar Khan chose education to be the best form of charity and the most enduring process of affecting a revolution in the lives of people. Ever since his early teens, he had helped, guided, motivated and inspired many students. With the flare of his flashing forehead during his eventful youth to the days of his prime manhood, Professor Anwar had been a moving spirit, a motivating force, a successful guide, an inspiring role model and a living legend. He talked and many people listened to him with care and attention. He walked and many would follow his footsteps fondly believing in his leadership. Come year 1980, he cultivated a few other educated people of the area to institutionalize the charitable cause and thus laid the foundations of a small platform, “Friends Welfare Society Bhowana.” Its noble aim envisaged by the founders was to financially assist poor but talented students of the area through the funds raised by the members’ annual contribution. Although it was initially a small step but it has now turned out to be a big leap forward in the very right direction. So far this charity has financed about 130 students during their academic career and all of them have ended up either as a professional (Doctor, Engineer) or landed into realm of Superior Civil Services. Thus, a small sapling planted then has been now transformed into a tall shady tree. |
